Post Great success after having RNY
Having weight loss surgery is the best thing that I have ever done for myself. I had surgery 7 months ago and am now 83# lighter. I feel 20 to 30 years younger. It is amazing!!!!!!!! I no longer take medication for arthritis, high blood pressure of depression. I feel like I am healthier, and I definitely have more energy. It is going to be a great year!!!! :)

Do you find it hard to find something you can eat when traveling or at home when a person would normally grab a quick hamburger or pizza? What do you do? I'm trying to find recipes but the ones I find online don't seem to be "Low Carb" as claimed or just aren't quick and easy.

For a quick stop by and pick up, I usually go for Chick-fil-A where you get plenty of protein and little carb and cal. I also stop by Mexican food places and get beans with meat and cheese added. Really good and fast. Also, I eat a lot of cheese and string cheese when I am on the run, as well as keeping protein bars with me at all times. That way, if I can't be at home to prepare a meal, I can still eat the right thing.

When I eat dinner out at a restaurant, I usually go for fish, chicken or steak and maybe throw in some green beans or other grilled veggie, and occasionally a bite of baked potato.

As far as cooking at home, I usually do chicken, roast, steak, or beans, and again just add some low starch veggies. Keep it simple. I don't feel like I live to eat anymore...but eat to live. Food just isn't that important to me which helps. :)
