The more you move the more you lose! I’m sure many of you have heard me say these exact words! But it’s so true! Best advice I can give you is get a pedometer and start moving. Go through an average week and just see how much walking you get in. If it’s not 10k steps a day then we have some work to do. Turns out, 10,000 steps a day is not easy! We have to make an effort to get it in. My husband and I walked at the zoo this weekend  for 2 hours, ran errands and we still did not hit 10k steps! So after dinner we made it a point to go walk our dog and ended up with 12,000 steps last night! We felt pretty accomplished afterwards. The more you move the better you’ll get at it. Get a walking buddy and challenge each other. Exercise is a choice, eating healthy is a choice, drinking water is a choice……we decide what is important to us every single day! Choose to move, every single day! You will not regret it! You will feel better, you will feel stronger and most importantly you get healthier!! Who couldn’t use a little confidence boost every now and again? Exercise will give that to you.

How much activity should you be doing a day? Well, our day-to-day activity should get us close, if not  to 10,000 steps daily. I always recommend trying to move an extra  30 minutes a day . Whether it is taking the dog for a walk, group exercise classes or swimming. If you have an active job and you are up on your feet all day that is great, however we still ask that you go above and beyond because if it’s something you always do then you are used to it and it doesn’t challenge our bodies! Something that always helps me is finding a workout buddy! It keeps you accountable to someone else. Plus, it’s fun to have a buddy to exercise with. Another thing that helps with exercise is finding something you enjoy doing. If you enjoy walking, go walk, if you enjoy swimming go swim. It is a lot easier to stick with it if you are interested in the activity! Hope you all can find time in your day to exercise today!
