It’s almost Memorial Day! So, what are you looking forward too? Pool parties, cook outs… don’t skip out on the cook outs this year! Try this low-carb burger option, you can adapt any burger from the grill or the oven! Leave off the bun and pile on the veggies. Here is a recipe for sliders that includes lean ground beef, pickles, lettuce, and pepper jack cheese, but you can use whichever cheese you like. Some other veggies you could include are onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes! Use a tooth pick to hold your burger together, and enjoy your holiday!!

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 Fahrenheit. Divide lettuce, cheese, and pickles for assembly prep while the oven is preheating.
  2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal balls, arrange on a cookie sheet, and flatten the balls
  3. Cook ground beef for 15 minutes or until internal temperature is 155 Fahrenheit, check ¾ of the way through cooking and drain fat if necessary
  4. After the ground beef is cooked, remove from the oven, place cheese on top of burger and place back in the oven for 1 minute if desired
  5. Remove the cooked burger patties from the oven and build your burger with 1 square of cheese, lettuce and 1 pickle slice. Place toothpick through sliders if desired (this works great for a finger food/party!)
