Financial FAQs
At WeightWise, we're committed to making bariatric surgery as affordable and accessible as possible. We know that cost is often the first question on a patient's mind — and we want to give you clear, straightforward answers.
Coverage varies depending on your insurance situation. Below you'll find a breakdown of the three most common scenarios we encounter.
Situation #1: No Health Insurance Coverage (cash pay)
Situation #1: No Health Insurance Coverage (cash pay)
Our all-inclusive cash-pay rates cover surgeon fees, anesthesia, and an uncomplicated hospital stay. No hidden costs.
- Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass: $15,000 (surgeon $5,000 · anesthesia $1,200 · hospital $8,800)
- Gastric Sleeve: $9,995 (surgeon $3,700 · anesthesia $900 · hospital $5,395)
- Duodenal Switch: $15,000 (surgeon $5,000 · anesthesia $1,200 · hospital $8,800)
- Revisional Procedures start at: $13,000
Additional charges may apply for pre-operative services such as EKG, sleep study, and lab work. Your patient advocate will walk you through these at your consultation.
Situation #2: Have Insurance Coverage, but No Bariatric Surgery Benefits
Situation #2: Have Insurance Coverage, but No Bariatric Surgery Benefits
We verify your insurance benefits before your first consultation. If your plan does not include bariatric surgery coverage, our standard cash-pay rates apply for the surgical procedure.
The good news: many insurance plans do cover pre-operative services like lab work, EKGs, and sleep studies. You'll pay only your specialist co-pay for covered visits.
Situation #3: Have Health Insurance with Bariatric Surgery Benefits
Situation #3: Have Health Insurance with Bariatric Surgery Benefits
We verify your benefits before your consultation and submit a Letter of Medical Necessity to your insurance provider on your behalf. If bariatric coverage applies, you'll be responsible only for your co-pays, co-insurance, and deductible up to your out-of-pocket maximum.
Pre-operative services such as lab work, EKGs, and sleep studies are often covered under these plans as well.
