The metabolic program at WeightWise is a medical weight-loss program with an important distinction: It is not a surgical procedure. Instead, it is a treatment plan for weight loss that has proven to be successful for a wide variety of obese and overweight patients.
How does the metabolic program work? In the broadest terms, it works because the process encourages patients to adhere to several principles that form much of the core programs we provide at WeightWise. And it works because we know where and when to focus on the main aspects of these core programs and how to utilize them to great effect.
The metabolic program is for patients who want to lose weight in a nonsurgical program. We have had patients whose goal was to lose just 10 pounds and patients who wanted to lose 100 pounds. We’re accredited experts at treating all weight-loss needs.
The best Oklahoma City metabolic program is at WeightWise. That’s because we know that not every person who is diagnosed as obese is ready to dive right into bariatric (weight-loss) surgery. We understand the need to consider and discuss all options, and the existence of our metabolic program provides our patients with that opportunity.
Keep in mind:
Our metabolic program is just another name
for a medical weight-loss program.

Metabolic Program OKC (in a nutshell)
- Visits with a nurse practitioner
- Labwork (if necessary; may also be completed off-site if the patient so chooses): CMP, CBC, Lipid Panel, TSH, Vitamin D, and A1C.
- Metabolic testing: resting metabolic rate (RMR)* and VO2*
- Consultations with a dietitian
- Exercise consultations
- Follow-up visits as needed to adjust programs and recommendations
From there, our dietitians will design a customized eating plan using the data and the information obtained through the initial visits and consultations.
In addition, we have exercise physiologists on staff who will also use the data from the VO2 to craft an individualized fat-burning workout regimen.
Thus, we see that the metabolic program is designed to gather information from the patient, collect data, analyze that data to make expert weight-loss recommendations, and monitor the customized program’s progress.
Metabolic Program: Patients
Weight-loss and weight management, or long-term weight loss and weight control, means dedicating oneself to a course of action. Several courses of action, really. This will likely include increased physical activity, diet, exercise, eating healthy foods and monitoring calorie intake (and noticing when you’re feeling full), and more.
Crucial to the success of our metabolic program is patient buy-in, including compliance with our recommendations. WeightWise reserves the right to exclude patients from the program who are unable to conform to these expectations for success.
We think you’ll buy in. After all, you’re here, and you’ve read this far down the page. You understand the metabolic health benefits of lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, and reduced risk of stroke, sleep apnea, and other afflictions.
Our program’s success in leading to weight loss for our patients is well known.
By the way, we provide a breakdown of the costs of our metabolic program here.
Another thing to keep in mind: WeightWise will not bill insurance for any medical weight loss services. Instead, the patient will be responsible for the self-pay cost.
Do you still have questions or concerns? Looking for more information on our metabolic program or any of our weight-loss procedures? That’s totally understandable. It’s a lot to take in all at once.
For all your weight-loss needs, we’re here to help.
