Weight Loss Success Story Franky Kukuk

Describe your life before you had Weight Loss Surgery.

“The most defining moment of when my weight was holding me back was when my husband and I went on a romantic getaway weekend. I was going to schedule us a romantic horseback ride where they take you on a path and then serve steak and candlelight picnic, but when i went to set it up they informed me that I was too heavy for their horses, that their cut off limit on weight was 250 and I at the time was 285. That was the moment I knew I had to get my life back on track. I was humiliated and determined.”

How long were you considering Weight Loss Surgery before you came in?

“Fear of change made me drag my feet. Fear of failing and having people judge me held me back. Fear of not being able to succeed at it and to fail froze me in place. It wasn’t until I adopted my three foster babies and the fear of leaving them an orphan again. I had diabetes and other ailments. I couldn’t get up and play, I had little to know energy. I had to make serious changes and quickly.”

What was it like to work with our team?

“I contacted WeightWise and I was showered with understanding and patience and wasn’t judged! They didn’t only walk me through the processes, they helped by keeping me motivated and confident. When I was feeling unsure of myself, they were my cheerleading squad the whole way. Dr. Walton was amazing and straight forward. They showed me that I already had the courage, I just couldn’t see it.”

Describe your life now, after Weight Loss Surgery.

“I am only 7 months out since my surgery, and I have lost a total of 100lbs. The biggest most powerful thing this surgery did for me, was change my unhealthy relationship with food. I eat to live not live to eat. I didn’t realize how much our lives circled around food. I see things differently than before. I have a better relationship with food and myself.”
