With this blog post, we decided to spend a little more time specifically on protein shakes for bariatric patients. This piece will focus on a few great recipes that we’ve found to be particularly beneficial — and tasty! — for our weight-loss patients.

  • 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or other non-dairy milk)
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 2 teaspoons honey (optional; use stevia for sugar-free option)
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 4 ice cubes

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Shake

  • 1 cup of ice cubes

Blend until smooth.

Orange Creamsicle Protein Shake

This combination provides a classic taste reminiscent of childhood. We all know it as an orange creamsicle!

  • 8 ounces of unsweetened almond milk in a blender
  • 1 scoop orange cream-flavored protein powder (or any citrus-flavored protein powder)
  • 2 tablespoons nonfat plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Blend it right up!
