It is definitely World Cup time in my house. With a husband from Germany, a brother-in-law from Argentina, and a lot of friends from the good old USA….it seems every single game is playing in my house. And with all of that “friendly” competition going on in my living room, who wants to be in the kitchen?!
That’s why I love my wonderful little slow cooker and the magic meals that seem to appear out of thin air. Keep reading for a super easy and delicious recipe for Slow Cooker Pork Chops and how to steam green beans at the same time in your slow cooker.
When I say this recipe is easy, I mean it’s on a different level of easy. Like a using a Staples button kind of easy. 🙂
Now here is a little trick for you to make the green beans. And since I was wrapped up in the US game on Sunday, I forgot to take pictures…sorry!
When the pork chops have about 30 minutes left in the slow cooker, remove the lid and cover the insert of your slow cooker with foil. Make sure to have enough foil to form a small ‘bowl’ or dip. Poke a few small holes around the edges of the foil. Then place fresh green beans on top of the foil and season with lemon pepper. Place the lid of the slow cooker over the foil and let the green beans steam for 30 minutes. A-mazing!
There you have it, an entire meal with about an ounce of effort. 🙂
Enjoy the next game while your slow cooker does all the work!! ~Lauren
