Pork is a versatile protein. You can grill, bake, broil, or slow cook with it. One of my favorite things to do with pork is Pork Roast and Sauerkraut. My husband grew up in Germany so we use sauerkraut or cabbage in a lot of dishes. You can be adventurous and make your own sauerkraut, but I usually use the Boar’s Head sauerkraut packages.

When cooking in the slow cooker, it is best to use certain cuts of meat. Ideal cuts of meat can include shank, shoulder, chuck, round & rump.

Pork Roast and Sauerkraut calls for a pork shoulder, but a pork rump (also called pork butt) is also good with this recipe.

Enjoy this simple and flavorful dish!
