How is everyone holding up in this heat?! With the weather still being pretty hot, be sure you are staying hydrated! Getting dehydrated is no joke and it could lead to other health complications, which we don’t want. So if you aren’t getting your fluids in, now is the time to start. Remember to get your 96 ounces, including some of those electrolytes – especially if you are spending time outside. Electrolytes help with hydration but are important for nerve and muscle function and other bodily processes.

This recipe post is more of a snack item that will count for fluids.  All you need are popsicle molds (which can be purchased anywhere for a few dollars) and your favorite hydrating fluids. At the moment my current favorite electrolytes are Ultima Replenisher Electrolytes – there are a ton of flavors to chose from. For this I am going with the flavor Lemon. You can also take any premade electrolyte drinks and put them into the molds. The powders are a good option if you feel that some of the electrolyte drinks are “too sweet” (as that is common early post-op) so you are able to control the “sweetness” and add some of the powder instead of the entire pack.

Stay thirsty (and hydrated), friends.
